My husband and I :o)
This is my 6th year teaching at GRB, and I am loving every minute of it! It is a great place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff, and parents. Teaching is my passion-- I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else! I consider myself very lucky because I am privileged to have a job that doesn’t feel like a "job".
Before coming to GRB, I taught Geometry at Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square for a year. I graduated in 2010 from Le Moyne College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, with a concentration in secondary education (grades 7-12). In the summer of 2014 I received my Master's Degree, also through Le Moyne. Go Dolphins!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I love being outside taking in the fresh air and beautiful scenery, especially in the Fall! My favorite place in the world is Disney- my husband proposed there and who am I kidding … I’m a big kid at heart :o)! We are new parents just this year and our son Vincent is truly a joy in our lives.
I love to keep up on the latest research and best practices to keep myself fresh and sharp in the classroom. It is a teacher’s obligation, to shape and enrich the minds of young children. In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I believe a large part of student success has to do with family involvement and support. My goal this year, is to get each and every family involved in the classroom and their student's work in any way I can! I value collaboration in my classroom and in working with my colleagues and families. I believe that great things can happen when we work together! I love coming to school every day. Let’s make this a fabulous school year!
